WOW, I haven't blogged in almost a month! Where has the time gone? This will probably be a long blog so grab a cup of coffee, or if you are my mother, a glass of tea and get ready.
I finally decided to bite the bullet and get new carpet. I was procrastinating because I didn't want to pack up 3 bedrooms and move everything. It's such a hassle. But I did and it looks great. It took 2 days and Connor was fascinated by the whole thing. We have also been to the Ft Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. My dad always gets great tickets. Connor rode a horse, went to the petting zoo, sat through and entire rodeo and sat on a stuffed bull! It was fun filled and it totally wore him out! As luck would have it, Connor and I have both had strep and I have had a horrible sinus infection that I have finally gotten rid of. Since it's just the 2 of us, we tend to pass stuff back and forth alot!! I had new attic stairs put in purely for Ray's benefit! We has such a small hole it was hard to fit anything in there! So, he will be busy helping me put stuff back in the attic when he is home on leave.
I started a new job at the beginning of February. I am teaching the 3 year old's 3 days a week at Connor's preschool. It's alot of fun and Connor is getting used to seeing me throughout the day. It's keeping me busy while Ray is gone so I am thankful for that. Although I did give up the ONLY free time I had to myself when he was at school. Oh well! We went to go see ELMO Live with our playgroup and oh my goodness they had a great time! Connor is still talking about it. I have enrolled Connor in soccer at a place called the soccerzone. It's an indoor soccer facility and he LOVES it! His friend Bailey invited us when they had "bring a friend day" and I enrolled him after that class. They actually take the time with each kid and help them learn new drills which is so nice. We are getting ready for our fifth birthday party this month. Whew!! It seems like all of Connor's friends were born in February!
I have switched Connor's speech therapist and he is now going to someone in Georgetown which is about 10 minutes from his school. Much better than the 45 drive ONE WAY I was doing. He seems to really like her and it's really saving us time and money. I have also registered him for Kindergarten. I can't believe I just said that! He will be going to a small private school in Taylor called St. Paul Lutheran. The classes are very small and they have a speech therapist that comes from the school district that will see him twice a week as well as the private therapy he is getting too. So I am very happy with this school and he keeps asking is he's going to his new school every time we get in the car! :)
Ray will be coming home soon on R&R and Connor and I are so excited! I can't tell you exactly when, but it's soon, I promise! I am taking the 2 weeks off and we are pulling Connor from school as well so we can spend time together. Ray is really ready to come home and sleep in a decent bed and use a normal potty! I have a feeling we will be eating out alot! Connor wants to take daddy bowling, to McDonalds, Chuck E Cheese, Chili's, Chick Fil A and a few other places. He has the whole 2 weeks planned out! We will be celebrating our 6 year anniversary while he is here so we are pretty excited about that.
Well, I think you are all caught up now. I can't post any pictures right now. My laptop is not working and I have to wait for Ray to come home so he can fix it. On top of that, I broke our digital camera so I am borrowing one of my mom's and I don't have the right software for it. So, pictures to come when Ray gets home and I promise to blog more!
I just got off the phone with Ray and we had a great 2 hr conversation. He is really busy right now. He is taking 2 classes at the moment and working. His classes end March 13 so he has A LOT to do by then. He is getting very excited about coming home. I can't give you the exact date, but I can tell you he should be home by the end of March. A lot of things have to fall in place for that to happen, so we will see! He sent me a couple pictures yesterday so I thought I would share them with you. He also informed me there were 305 that he has, but obviously could not send me. So when he gets home, I will load all of them to a photo site and send the link to whoever wants it.
